               In fact , as early as the 90s of the nineteenth century , Nicola Tesla , who was known as the lifetime opponent of Edison , invented the Tesla Coil . The invention could spread electricity through air . However ,due to various reasons , Teslas wirelessly transmitting power did not put into commercial application .                  Until recent years , with the maturity of wireless charging technology and the worldwide popularization of intelligent devices and terminals , electric vehicles driven by Tesla are gradually popularized worldwide . The technology with early and remote accumulation out-broke in commercial and residential market all at a night . According to the display of survey report made by research institutions , the share of wireless charging market in 2013 reached $216  million , in year 2014 it was well known to people , it has out-broken in year 2015 and is expected to reach $815 million in year 2018.

                   When the equipment supporting wireless charging is becoming more and more common, whether the expansion of medical market , auto market , smart phone market  or the expansion of smart home etc market , wireless charging is becoming a global opportunity field .

                   Dispute about three wireless charging standards .

                   一。WPC introduced the Qi standard , of which Nokia is the representative . Qi standard is the wireless charging launched in 2008 by the wireless power consortium whose abbreviation form is WPC . WPC is the worlds first standard organization pushing wireless charging technology . Qi standard  adopts electromagnetic induction technology which requires close contact . Its charging efficiency is high .

                   二。PMA standard is initiated  by Duracell powermat company.

                   Power Matters Alliance standard is launched by Powermat Duracell  Ltd company in 2012. The company is jointly operated by Procter & Gamble and Powermat , a wireless charging technology company . At the same time , Powermat is a member supporting A4WP standard . PMA standard uses the same " electromagnetic induction technology " as the Qi to provide wireless power supply standards for mobile phones and electronic equipment which meet the standards of American electrical and electronics engineers . Currently , members joining in the alliance are Starbucks , Google and AT& etc .

                    三。A4WP standard jointly created by Qualcomm, Samsung and powermat . A4WP ,the abbreviation form of Alliance for wireless power, is jointly created by Samsung, Qualcomm and powermat . It adopts electromagnetic co vibration wireless charging technology to realize the long distance transmission .It is also why A4WP can extend to home ,electric vehicle fields and can simultaneously charge multiple devices .    

                       A4WP also particularly introduced the independent brand, Rezence , trying to establish a wireless charging standard , to which WiTricity and Intel , two members of the A4WP technology licensing agreement are added . This agreement making WiTricity meet the specification Rezence can be used in Intel device .

                       But in early 2014, A4WP and PMA suddenly announced to cooperate hand in hand and urge the dual-mode wireless charging technology , which cast a shock bomb for the market . The industry said in succession that the aim of Hezong strategy of PMA and A4WP is undoubtedly to unite secondary foe to combat the main enemy . The natural enemy is wireless charging alliance .

                      WiTricity broke the situation in which wireless charging is applied in commercial use . It can not be denied that the chaos war of three main standards can promote the sustainability of the whole wireless charging market and also activate a large number of hardware manufacturers , but due to the fact that several major leagues adopt wireless charging technology based on electromagnetic induction ,drawbacks in distance needed by charging and charging speed is  also obvious . Coupled with the fact that the establishment of standards need more support of the underlying technology, how to go further seems extremely urgent .  WiTricity , an enterprise in Sillicon valley which is focusing on researching the underlying physics for 10 years seems to have the intent to break the situation and become the ice breaker for wireless charging technology.

                     WiTricity , which is invented by Doctor Marin Sojiacic , assistant professor of MIT in the USA , has mastered more than 100 patents in magnetic resonance .

                      Unlike the electromagnetic inductive wireless charging technology , WiTricity uses magnetic resonance wireless charging technology and two resonant objects with the same resonant frequency can exchange energy in a very efficient way . The key to this technology is the use of non radiative magnetic coupling . WiTricity technology can penetrate walls and other obstacles  and support long distance power transmission ( currently the longest distance only reaches 2.4 meters) . Its  requirement for position is not so strict and it can charge a variety of equipment . That is to say , WiTricity has achieved a real "separate charging in the air " 

                       WiTricity s greatest potential is that whether it is now or in the future as long as you can imagine the device in need of endurance , you can use the technology . CEO Alex Gruzen WiTricity said in an interview ," This is like magic , in the future all the devices will realize wireless operation and there will be a steady flow of power supply."

                       Alex Gruzen said WiTricity technology tended to be in the mature stage. Focusing on technology research and development , what people need to do next is to help the manufacturers similar to Apple to explore business in the aspect of smart home . It is not difficult to see WiTricity also takes aim at the internet of things which is about to erupt in order to achieve a non-binding power supply of smart home products . 

                      WiTricity wireless charging technology will also be used in automobile field . Alex Gruzen told media that car manufacturers also had said that they were willing to sign a cooperation agreement with them , claiming to use WiTricity wireless charging technology in their cars  and these cars were likely to be launched in 2017.

                      Gruzen Alex also talked about Tesla . In his eyes Tesla was an interesting company . The future does not exclude the possibility of cooperation . In fact , when Tesla is opening up the market , the problem it faces is the charging network is not perfect , the layout of charging network needs a lot of money and let it fall into deeper and deeper financial mire . If WiTricity uses wireless charging technology , problems will be solved naturally .

                      The scene that WiTricity wants to realize is :after you go into the coffee shop , as long as you are placing the phone on the table , you are charging it ; when you are in the office , you need not have any connection with the desktop and

 all the electronic devices can be in a state of charging ; at home , just a central charging base used provides electricity for all the equipment in the house ; the unmanned aerial vehicle is running out of electricity , flies around the wireless charging station for a circle , fills itself with electricity and flies back to the destination ----------                    

                       Alex Gruzen revealed to the media that in September this year , he would  bring gradually WiTricity technology into more countries. He said he was very optimistic about the Chinese market . He is communicating  promotion strategy with automobile manufacturers one after another in Taiwan and mainland of China and conducting the user survey for the mass market . 

                     What dazzling and  cool wireless charging technology  there  is ? 

                     In fact , in addition to WiTricity , representative startups such as Wi-charge and Energous are exploring and expanding land in the field of wireless charging technology . Wi-charge is a start-up company from Israel , which developed a kind of infrared light charging system . The charging system is using the transmitter to convert energy into infrared light and with the aid of receiver attached to electronic equipment  changing  the infrared light into electrical energy , which is used for charging equipment within the range of 50 square meters . Wi-charge currently is  focusing on tablet , notebook and mobile phones and other electronic products .The obvious shortcoming of the  system is that the quality of charging can not be guaranteed . Because the transmitter power level is specific , the infrared light diverged by each transmitter has a practical limit . In addition , how many electronic devices are there in the whole range and how many transmitters there are will have impact on the quality of charging . 

                       Established in the bay area ,Energous company relies on Wattup wireless charging router launched by herself to achieve wireless charging . The built-in Bluetooth module group   of Wattup is the key to realize wireless charging function . It can recognize compatible devices such as mobile phone , tablet ,light bulb etc within the scope of 4.5m , then it connects with the charging equipment , followed by the fact that Wattup will transmit radio waves to the device in need of charging .It is worth mentioning that at the end of 2014 , Energous and Haier signed a cooperation agreement . Wattup technology will soon be applied to Haier home appliances .

                       Undeniably , in the aspect of wireless charging technology , there has gradually emerged a group of enterprises which have technology accumulation and potential , but the popularity of wireless charging technology still needs to face a lot of problems .For example , a set of WiTricity wireless charging technology system is sold as high as 995$(about 6218 Yuan ), plus the fact a lot of users doubt whether wireless charging will cause damage to human body , maybe someone will ask how to calculate the electricity charges in such a way of charging ? Is it safe ? How to handle it if someone wants to rub electricity ? All the above contribute to the fact that wireless charging in a short period of time is only a supporting role in the field of consumer electronics . Therefore , if we want to achieve better stability like WiFi, wireless charging technology of ultra long transmission distance which does no harm to human body still need to break through the technical barriers and not unified standards. In the future it may also face with the supervision of national institutions .

                       At the same time , we also have reason to believe that the market will usher in the big moment for the  potential outbreak of a real  wireless charging . At that time , the dilemma criticized by people will also go to an end . Perhaps , as what is said in 《three bodies 》,the loss in wireless charging is very large . When human energy development can ignore the extent of these losses , it is time to popularize wireless charging .
