Qualcomm Snapdragon 212: the dark horse  of smart home chip

           In   addition to Qualcomms launching several chip products aiming at car platform on CES 2016 , Qualcomm Technologies , a company under the flag of Qualcomm , brought about Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 handler for the purpose of the application in smart home product , the reference platform which could be widely used in smart home solution scheme and brand new Bluetooth Smart 4.2 system level chip serials .

              Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 is different from Qualcomms  former Soc specially made for smart phone , because it is mainly forged for smart home product , the smart home reference platform launched  based on the chip being able to achieve  the function of calculation , voice recognition , display , ,camera , connection and control . The developer can develop more functions on Qualcomm calculating platform and connect more home appliances  and multi media terminals.

As for core processor , Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 is equipped with a Cortex-A7 structure four-core-handler whose main frequency is 1.3 GHz  and is integrated with Adreno 304 graphic handling chip and Hexagon DSP multimedia calculating platform . Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 at most supports 1280*800 resolution ， QHD format 45-60 frame per second( FPS) and  1080 resolution video play. Thought its performance is not so strong , it is more than sufficient to be used to drive smart home product.

According to information revealed , the smart home reference platform of Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 has been supplied to OEM supplier . The platform can help the manufacturer to shorten the developing time of smart loudspeaker , family control , home appliance , television and set top box etc multimedia terminals .

  Bluetooth Smart 

 Qualcomm CSR 102 x serials are products orientated for the  optimized needs of internet of things . It is aimed at wireless remote control , beginner level smart watch and  smart home beacon. These products are often not  in need of very high calculating ability , but has some demand for battery endurance and developing cost . CSR 102 X can satisfy peoples this kind of need . According to  the exposed information , the samples of CSR 102 x have been launched . Based on the official information , the chip will be supplied to clients in the second quarter of this year in large number .

Besides , Qualcomm also released a CSR 8675 bluetooth level chip , whose biggest characteristic was that it could support Qualcomm apt XHD and make the equipment receive and hear 24 bit music quality . aptXHD has the same unique audio compression technique as apt X , which could let the device transfer and hear music quality in a wireless way  without doing harm to the music quality .
