Spreadtrum recently has released the 4G chip SC9430A, whose product roadmap depicts in next year it will launch LTE products made by 16nmFin Fei technology. It is estimated that in the second half of this year Taijidian s 16nm Fin FET will realize mass production , while Huawei and Haisi also will launch LTE chip produced in the the process The two enterprises are undoubtedly the leading two at present in Chinas mobile phone chip enterprises , Spreadtrum strongpoint is in marketing, while the advantage of Huawei and Hai Si lies in technology.
Early in the 2G era , Spreadrum tried to grab the market share in the way of unltra low cost , three modes and three standbys and other characteristics from the hands of Media Tek . In 3G era , Spreadrum mainly focuses its attention on TD-SCDMA . At that time , there in the market at that time were Union Core , MARVELL and T3G etc . Then the performance of MARVELLs chip was good and was used by mobile phone enterprises in high end market . Smartphone launched by famous domestic smart-phone enterprises mostly adopt MARVELL chip .Spreadrums products are mature and low priced , being able to launch the Turnkey solution which occupies half of market share .
Spreadrums good fortune in the TD-SCDMA market is grabbed by Media Tek . In the second half of 2012 , Media Tek launched TD-SCDMA mobile phone chips . By the end of 2012 China Mobile collected 9 sorts of the mobile phones in which there were 4 sorts of products made by Spreadrum . Media Teks taking part in promotes the rapid development of TD-SCDMA industry . In year 2013, the sales of TD-SCDMA mobile phone reached 1.55 million , about 2.5 times of the 60 million in year 2012 .Media Tek makes the largest contribution.
Spreadrum in the WCDMA market showed its power . Media Tek in 2011 released WCDMA chip MT 6573 chip supporting its Android system and won 10 million sales in that year . In 2012 , it released heavy volume and increased largely to 110 million . The WCDMA chip launched by spreadrum was much later than that of Media Tek . It began to launch its first WCDMA chip until year 2013. However, spreadrums WCDMA chip is mature in technology and ultra low priced , entering into the Samsung procurement list . Besides , Spreadrum also cooperated with the local mobile phone brand MICRO MAX in Indian market . Naturally , Spreadrum chips are also adopted by domestic mobile phone . In this case Spreadrum shipment has a rapid growth . According to strategy analysis data , to the first quarter of 2014 , the shipment of Spreadrum increased quickly ,surpassing intel and ranking the third in global baseband market .
Huawei and Haisi have powerful technology.
As the worlds largest telecom equipment manufacturer , Huawei of course has strong mobile communication technology accumulation , which helped its development in the mobile phone chip market . Early in 2005 , Huawei and Haisi launched a WCDMA baseband , and used it in their own LAN products four years earlier than WCDMA chip made by Media Tek . Due to the demerits of Huawei and Haisi in processor technology , Huawei and Haisi have failed to show their power in mobile phone chip market .
In year 2012 , Huawei and Haisi launched K3V2 quad core mobile phone chip which at that time was known as the worlds smallest quad core A9 architecture processor . Its performance then was equal to the mainstream processor such as Samsung Orion Exynos 4412 . Although there are issues such as giving out heat and GPU compatibility , it still can be regarded as a successful chip , representing Huaweis technology breakthrough in technology.
In year 2014, Huawei and Haisi had breaking out in technology , first releasing Haisi Unicorn 910 chips ,subsequently releasing Unicorn 920 chips . Unicorn 920 was tested by Bunny and won the title of scoring king , making Haisi be amazed with a single feat .In addition , the baseband of this phone chip supports LTE CA 76 technology . It is the worlds first mobile phone chip supporting the technology . It was released one month earlier than overlord Qualcomm. Media Tek supported LTECA 76 technology to the second half of this year and Spreadrum said it would do this until next year .
