                 一。  The grade of smart phone chip .

                At present , the smart phones instruction set has only two kinds: X86 and arm . The majority of smart phone chip is ARM instruction set ,therefore , there seem to be a lot of phone chip manufacturers . In fact ,however, the core does not have many kinds . The grade is clear .

               Arm company provides several generations core of public version . Now in the current market , most companies

use the public version directly . In addition to Apple and Qualcom , they basically never design their own core

                    The core of arm currently is the combination core of a57 and a53 . a57 has high performance and high power consumption , while a53 has low performance and power consumption . Both can be independent and combine into big or small core switch .

                   In the previous generation of a57 and a53, there are a15 and a7. a15 has high performance while a7 has low power consumption . At present , the production of a15 chip has been basically discontinued , but is taken the place of by a57 because of low cost . Although its performance is not as good as that of a53, it is still being used by some manufacturers . a 53 has not the next generation core , while a 57 has been the next generation product of a 72 . a 72 s measured performance and power consumption are better than those of a57 .Its cost is lower , but the time will be delayed to the second half of 2015 .

                 Therefore , in the chip market , a7 is the lowest and a 57 is second to it . a 57 is the product having high performance , while a 72 is the highest but there is no batch production in it . In addition , Apples arm core  is independently researched and developed  without the public version of the arm , but its performance is better than that of a 72 . Its frequency can not be made high .Intel, whose cooperation with Rockchip is Bay Trail structure , is x86 instruction set . Its performance is the same as a 57 . However , under Android , X 86 can not play a role , its experience in the same grade as that of a53.

               二。 General survey of various grades of products in the market

              (一)Low grade product

               In April , Millet in the millet fan festival took out red millet priced at 499 Yuan . This phone uses union core 1860 chip , which uses a7 core . a7 core has relatively weak performance and barely able to meet the daily use.

              In the same grade is 4G Sc9830 supported by spreadrum . Their core CPU and GPU core are basically the same , with performance being a little weaker , but the price being very low . Spreadrum even has smartphone solution for smart phone priced at 399 Yuan . Lenovo coolpad in the low end products will use this chip .                      

               In this grade , Intel and Rockchip also collaborated a SCFCA 3G-R. This product is based on Intels Bay Trail structure  and infineon baseband . The actual experience under Android is almost the same as that of A53. Compared with a higher level of competitor , parameters in the CPU are also double high . In the same class they have performance advantage .

                However , this product only supports 3G network and does not support 4G. 4G products will be a little later and a little more expensive . It is estimated that Shenzhen tablets such as Teclast , Ruandao ,Blue devil and Cube Magic will adopt  and make them into flat call which has super high performance price ratio . In addition to not supporting 4G, it has a very strong competition ability

(二)。 Mid-grade product

               Because there are products priced at 399 Yuan and 499 Yuan at the bottom, at present on the market smart phone priced more than 1,000 Yuan are counted as mid-range products . In this grade , there are mainly QUal comm snapdragon 610 , MTKs MT 6572 and Huawei Hass Kirin 930.

               From the structures point of view , the three are similar in that they have A 53 which has eight cores . Performance differences mainly come from the frequency . On this side , the MTK and Huawei have technologies to enhance frequency . Their performane is better than Qualcomms snapdragon 610 .

               In addition to the function of pulling the frequency , Huaweis Kirin 930 has done weill in the baseband communication .

               Because Huawei provides the three major operators in mainland China with infrastructure  such as the base station ,  Huawei carried out chip signal testing across the country and provided optimization strategy according to the specific circumstances of the base station . According to the signal of fast moving objects in the special case of Chinese high speed rail , the result is that  Huaweis Kirin 930 chip signal is optimized in mainland China.

               In terms of price , MT 6752, which is positioning in the low end , has the products of Charm Blue  note selling  at about thousand Yuan . Snapdragon 615 and Kirin 930 are sold at higher price , the equipped oppo R5 Huawei P8 glory X2 are not cheap , even more expensive than some of the top chp machines .

(三)High grade product

                 In the former generation of high end product ,Qualcomms Snapdragon 801 stands first on the list . It is equipped with  in many flagship phones . A new generation of products  have completely changed the appearance . At present , the latest high end products is snapdragon 810 and Samsung Exynos 7470 . MTK and Huawei Hass in the second half of the year have flagship product which is equipped with A72 core . From the performance point of view , A 72 has  a slight increase than A 57, while the power consumption has a lot . The chip area is also reduced a bit which means lower cost and better performance .

                So MTK and Hass skip over the a57 generation product betting on A72 core . In the second half of 2015 , MTK samples are given to mobile phone manufacturers for a test . Huaweis Kirin 950 did not speak in detail , but from the point of view of Huaweis progress chart in 2015, it will use TSMCS 16 nm process .

                In the first half of year 2015 , the products which could be bought were only Samsung s Exynos 7420 and Qualcomms Snapdragon 810.The two cores are the same , but the process is different . Exnyos 7420 has the support of Samsung own 14nm process . The frequency pulling power consumption can stay in control .

                Its performance is outstanding , while snapdragon 810 uses 20nm old process technique. It generates a lot of heat  and its frequency can not be pulled up . Its performance is worse than that of Samsungs Exynos 7420. In the second half of the year , MTK and Huawei Hass new product come out ,therefore , snapdragon 810 are out of date .

             Smart phone chip looks complex . In fact , because of homogenization , the difference is not so big ,only after seeing the essence can we buy a smart phone which is suit for us.
